Hey again Hacklido fam! sagnik17 back with another one 😁

so we have a notes.txt and inside it we got some text.
this time it’s under forensics but surprise surprise, it’s actually a cryptography challenge in disguise 🧩
First Step : Reading the hints 🧠
The problem description was low key giving it away if you paid attention:
- 26 alphabets
- This cipher shifts exactly halfway through
Halfway through 26 = 13 shifts, that’s literally the definition of ROT13
ROT13 just rotates every letter by 13 places in the alphabet. Super simple, super classic CTF trick.
Cracking it 🔨
For this I used everyone’s favourite CTF tool, CyberChef 🍳
If you haven’t used it yet, where have you been?! It’s basically a Swiss Army knife for encoding, decoding, encryption , you name it.
Just paste your cipher text in the input → apply ROT13 as recipe → and you’ll see your flag 🚩,

see you in the next blog
