Kali 2023.1 has just been released last March, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the project. The occasion to switch to Linux kernel 6.1 and to introduce a new variant, Purple.

What is Kali Linux?
Kali Linux is a Debian-based open source Linux distribution specialized in information security: penetration testing, security research, forensics and reverse engineering.
What’s new?
Here are the new features since the December 2022.4 release: a Linux 6.1 LTS kernel, Python 3.11, Xfce 4.18 and KDE Plasma 5.27 LTS, a new global theme for 2023 and the arrival of a new variant, Kali Purple. This version is intended for defensive security environments. A new Wiki is dedicated to it. Here is a screenshot.

You can download Kali (for free) as an ISO image, as a Cloud image, but also for ARM and for mobile, via https://www.kali.org/get-kali/#kali-platforms.
